Introduction
to Lyric Theatre

| The Lyric Theatre is a large outdoor stage located next
to the Pavilion. In
the 1920’s and 30’s the bandshell in Assiniboine Park was the
focal point for performances in the park. Now the Lyric Theatre
will carry on the tradition of summer bandshell entertainment in
Assiniboine Park well into the 21st century.
Since opening in the summer of 1999, countless thousands
have been entertained with such performances for every taste and
age. From Ballet in
the Park, the symphony, the Opera and Jazz festivals, to the Lyric
Theatre is a fitting home to quality family entertainment, all
provided free of charge.
